The year was 1765.

In a dimly lit tavern, a small group of English colonists gathered. The Sons of Liberty. They met not out of rebellion for its own sake, but out of conviction. A government across the sea imposed laws, taxes, and mandates without their consent. They felt unrepresented, unheard, and increasingly disconnected from those who claimed authority over their lives.

That frustration is not unfamiliar. Then, it was a Parliament an ocean away. Today, we feel the same distance from a federal government centered in Washington, D.C., increasingly detached from the people it claims to represent. The core grievance remains unchanged: the government exercises power without accountability and expects its citizens to comply without consent.

From this tension, a movement was born. One grounded in Christian morality, Anglo-Saxon common law, European philosophical thought, and the belief that liberty requires responsibility, and an informed and educated citizenry.

Our Vision

We envision an America once again governed by Americans.

Where authority is exercised through lawful institutions, not unaccountable elites beholden to foreign powers; where government answers to the American people because it is bound by law, duty, and constitutional restraint, free from foreign influence or control; and where civil authority is grounded in Christian moral order rather than shifting human will.

An America with secure borders, a morally formed and informed citizenry, and a free people capable of ordered self-government.

Our Mission

The mission of the Sons of Liberty Foundation is to educate and engage Americans in the Christian, constitutional, and historical principles that underpin ordered liberty, self-government, and civic responsibility. We work to promote fidelity to the Constitution’s original meaning and the moral foundations upon which it rests.
